Cubic awarded contract from National Transport Authority

Provider of integrated technology solutions, Cubic has been awarded a contract from the National Transport Authority (NTA) to deliver a mobile ticketing system in Ireland.  

Cubic has announced that its Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS) business division Has been awarded the contract worth more than $4 million from the NTA.

Cubic’s scalable and low-risk solution will aim to improve customer experience and provide users with a single capability to purchase tickets for multiple public transport operators. Cubic’s mobile ticketing solution supports the NTA’s vision to make public transportation in Ireland simpler and more efficient for travellers.

Laurent Eskenazi, managing director at Cubic Transportation Systems said, ‘As the very first national mobile ticketing project for Ireland, we look forward to simplifying traveller journeys and creating a quicker and less labour-intensive ticketing process for operators.’

Cubic’s mobile ticketing solution is designed to enable multimodal transportation through an integrated user interface. It will be deployed and rolled out in several major cities including Los Angeles, Washington DC, Chicago, New York, Cologne, Germany and Brisbane in Australia.
