The ITS World Congress will hear the latest about Greenwich’s autonomous vehicle trials during a session on Tuesday at the event.

Professor Nick Reed, Director of the Academy at TRL will talk about the use of shuttles as a service, autonomous valet parking and automated vehicles for deliveries.

Speaking to Smart Highways Editor Paul Hutton ahead of the session, Prof Reed said that the research is a fantastic opportunity to “understand the requirements we have to follow to get these vehicles out and about and deliver a service.

“The three projects funded by Innovate UK were all developed independently so they all have their independent focus, but we all have lots of similarities in what we’re doing so we’re definitely going to be collaborating in our press activities and our work to understand the regulations and the delivery of automated vehicles out on UK streets”.

Prof Reed is also on a panel session between 1.30 and 3.00 (Hall 1 Expo Theatre 1), ahead of his paper at 3.30 in Hall 2 Room 2.
