One of the key personnel working on June’s Traffex Seeing is Believing says this year’s two day inside-outside mix of exhibition, demonstrations and conference promises to be bigger and better than ever.
Writing in the forthcoming issue of SMART Highways, Events Producer and Head of Content Adrian Tatum says that with more products on display than ever before, the inside-outdoor concept of Traffex SIB remains a fantastic opportunity to see, hear, debate and discuss the best products the industry has to offer with a comprehensive conference programme that helps highlight the very latest thinking in the sector, including presentations from DfT, Highways England, ADEPT, Kier, AECOM, the Road Safety Foundation and ITS (UK), all of which are CPD accredited.
“The live demonstrations outside on the track are a real showcase,” he writes. “This year we welcome over 60 key exhibitors including Kier who will demonstrate 25 products over 2km of the track at Bruntingthorpe with the aim of taking visitors on a real journey of the latest products, concepts and services. This is just one example of many that demonstrates the commitment of contractors, consultants and commercial companies with the aim of making a difference on the network. Other companies demonstrating their products include; WJ Group, Instarmac, Highway Care, DBI, AGD and Jobling Purser.”
Tatum says the theme for this year’s event, which is once again supported by Highways England, is “how is technology driving change on the network?”
“Perhaps the ideal title to help illustrate the excellent research and development work being currently undertaken in the sector? But how is technology initiating change? The answer to that is not a simple one,” he says. “There are many ways in which it is clearly making a difference on the network in important areas such as safety, to name just one. That is why Traffex SIB is the ideal platform to showcase the latest current and emerging technology. It is important that this sector tells it story well and we are proud to be able to play our part in providing a foundation for it to do that. Most of the headlines are all about how many lives we have lost, and not enough telling us how many lives we have saved and we need to change that.”
Traffex Seeing is Believing takes place in Bruntingthorpe, Leicestershire on 27 and 28 June. To register go to http://www.sib.uk.net/register-now
