telent wins signal contract in English midlands

The technology and network services business telent has retained a contract to maintain traffic signals in the borough of Sandwell.

The agreement, worth up to £2m, covers the maintenance of 109 traffic signal junctions 174 pedestrian crossings and eight journey time monitoring cameras.

telent says the contract will offer continuous benefits to the residents of Sandwell, including the creation of employment opportunities and the sourcing of suppliers from the local community.

Samantha Harvey, Regional Manager, Transport at telent who is managing the Sandwell contract said, “We are delighted to continue working with Sandwell Council, an appointment that further demonstrates the breadth of telent’s innovation and proactivity with constantly changing road technology. Our understanding of the customer is second to none, and this contract highlights our expertise in the traffic sector.”
