Engineering, environment and design consultancy firm Sweco is set to grow its operations in Ireland following appointment to several national frameworks.
Its transportation team has been appointed to the Department for Infrastructure’s four-year Major Works Consultancy Services Framework in Northern Ireland. The team has a strong track record of delivering major transportation projects in Ireland, including the M8 Cashel to Mitchelstown motorway and the M50 upgrade in Dublin.
The company, which established an office in Cork in May 2017, says it plans to double its headcount to 20 over the next 12 months to “deliver a strong pipeline of multidisciplinary work across asset management, transportation, energy and environment”.
John Nolan, Operations Director at Sweco, said: “We’ve built a solid foundation in the nine months since establishing our office in Cork, which is testament to the strength of our expertise across a range of disciplines.
“Government commitments to investing in infrastructure and energy offer significant growth potential for the business. As key suppliers on leading national frameworks, we’re well placed to capitalise on these opportunities and continue our expansion.”
