SWARCO announces collaboration with SRL

Road systems, services and turnkey solution providers, SWARCO has teamed up with SRL Traffic Systems to collaborate in the Variable Message Sign industry. 

UK manufactures of portable and temporary traffic equipment, SRL Traffic Systems has purchased 100 mobile VMS from SWARCO in a £2.25 million (€2.6 million) deal. SRL will be managing the signs via SWARCO’s intelligent Zephyr solution that enables messages to be set form anywhere and at any time, remotely.

Each mobile unit can also be located and tracked via GPS, have its power consumption, supply levels and essential operating data monitored by Zephyr.

The VMS are assembled at SWARCO’s Traffic’s production facility in Richmond, North Yorkshire and delivered to SRL’s two dedicated VMS hub depots. From the depots the VMS are distributed to one of their 24 hire division depots.

Business Development Manager at SWARCO Traffic, Andrew Walker said, “We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality VMS in the industry, as well as developing innovative and new technologies.”

“We see this as the beginning of a long-term collaboration between tow best-in-class organisastions,” concluded Walker.

Commercial Director at SRL, Alison Spooner said, “SRL’s aim is to grow this VMS division to 500 signs as quickly as we can though our well-known pricing and support structure and providing our customers with increased opportunities in the industry.”
