Another act of vandalism of a speed camera has taken place in the Linslade area of Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire, where a unit was set on fire, and the camera itself stolen.

Police say it happened in the early hours of Saturday 2nd April, but they have only just made it public.

In a statement, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Cameras, Tickets & Collisions team, said, “Not only was this a needless act of vandalism, there was also a theft of the camera itself, which costs thousands of pounds.  I’d appeal for anyone with information and any witnesses to the incident to get in touch to help find those responsible.”

Local press speculates that the damage was caused by a driver who was flashed whilst speeding past the camera.
