Siemens has announced the appointment of Wilke Reints as the company’s new Managing Director for the Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS) business in the UK to succeed Tom MacMorran who retires at the end of this month.
The company says Reints (pictured) is a familiar figure in this area of the business having spent over 20 years with Siemens. He first joined the company in 1992 moving to the ITS business 3 years later and since that time has held a variety of positions. This included working in project management for the Athens Olympic Games as well as other large traffic management-related projects.
Following a two-year break from Siemens mid-career, Wilke re-joined the company in 2010. Most recently, he has held a global position responsible for all research and development, and product lifecycle management for ITS.
Wilke said, “Siemens has a proven track record with a global pedigree for the efficient installation, operation and maintenance of ITS solutions. I am confident that we will continue to combine experience with reliability, foresight and innovation to deliver the highest level expertise and service to meet the needs of our customers in the UK”.
