Smart Highways editor Paul Hutton has produced the second of the Transport Network’s Countdown to Congress podcasts ahead of next week’s ITS European Congress in Strasbourg.

In it he talks to Catherine Trautmann, Economic Development Vice-President for the Strasbourg area and President of Strasbourg Autonomous Port, who talks about the technology that makes the port so efficient, mobility as a service and what else we can see in Strasbourg.

ITS (UK) Secretary General Jennie Martin is also on the programme, talking about how the event has changed through the years.

You can listen to it here: https://soundcloud.com/phinitiatives/countdown-to-congress-strasbourg-show-2 – the programme is already on iTunes podcasts, search “Transport Podcast” to find it.

Next week Paul will be in Strasbourg reporting from the event with daily programmes and regular news updates on the Smart Highways website.  These podcasts will preview the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of the event by talking to exhibitors, speakers, visitors and thought leaders at the event.  Every day he’ll also be highlighting some of the must-attend sessions with one of the people who put the programme together, professor Eric Sampson.

This might be the first time you’ve heard one of these podcasts.  Paul has been reporting from major ITS events around the world since Vienna in 2012, and going to them for much longer, and many people say they are an essential guide to events, whether you’re attending or unable to make it.  They really easy to listen to in hotel rooms before heading out every morning, or en route to the congress centre.

Each of the podcasts will be up online in time for you to listen to ahead of the day’s events.
