East Sussex County Council has completed resurfacing work on a total of 2,250 metres of road.

The project is part of an investment by East Sussex County Council of more than £50million to improve hundreds of roads across the county.

In just two weeks, teams from the county council’s highways department completed the work on the following roads:

• A 260 metre stretch of Stafford Road between Broad Street and Avondale Road

• A 613 metre section of Marine Parade between the A259 Buckle Bypass and Claremont Road

• The 600 metre section of Sutton Drove between Alfriston Road and Avondale Road

• A 372 metre section of Beacon Road between the A259 Buckle Bypass and Carlton Road

• A 405 metre stretch of Claremont Road between Edinburgh Road and Marine Parade

Cllr Carl Maynard, lead member for transport and environment, said: “This is a good example of the county council’s investment in East Sussex roads and has resulted in a smoother, safer journey for people in Seaford for years to come. We recognise that roadworks can cause disruption and appreciate the patience shown by motorists.”
