Resurfacing and lining works will start on the hard shoulder of the northbound A1(M) between Junction 59 (Coatham Mundeville Interchange) and Junction 60 (Bradbury) next week.

Work will take place from Monday 9 to Saturday 21 July between 8pm to 6am and will also include renewing the filter drain at Bradbury.

The northbound A1(M) will be closed between Junction 59 to 60 for one week followed by lane closures and a 50mph speed restrictions in place between Junction 59 and 60 the second week.

Highways Agency project manager, Steve Bishop, said: “This work will prolong the life of carriageway and provide an improved surface for drivers.

“Safety is our top priority and for the safety of road users and roadworkers we encourage all drivers to drive carefully past the works and along the diversion routes, keeping within the speed limit, and concentrating on the road ahead.”
