Repairs start on 40-year-old flyover

The flyover at Hazelwick Avenue in Crawley will be closed for up to 16 weeks to allow essential works to take place by West Sussex County Council’s contractor Balfour Beatty Living Places.

The flyover consists of two bridges that straddle the Hazelwick roundabout It is 40 years old and its condition is deteriorating.

Work needs to be done to install new bearings, add a waterproof membrane, expansion joints and to resurface the road.

The contract is worth £650,000.
