The Highways Agency has brought forward repair work on a damaged stretch of the A52, from junction 25 of the M1 to Borrowash.
Overnight work will now start on Monday and will be completed by Friday 15 September.
A Highways Agency spokesperson, said: “Our ongoing inspections of the A52 highlighted safety issues regarding the condition of the road surface between the M1 and Borrowash.
“We have therefore been working hard to bring forward repairs to address the most pressing of these problems.
“This essential resurfacing work will ensure a smoother and safer road surface for drivers and will allow for the removal of the existing temporary 50mph speed limit.”
