Double yellow lines measuring just nine inches long have been painted on a street in Westminster, London.

They appeared between a taxi rank and some parking bays in Caxton Street.

Westminster City Council told the BBC: “This was a mistake by a contractor. We are obviously not happy about it. We can see how absurd this looks and we will make sure it is corrected.”
