Lillian Greenwood has been named as the new Shadow Transport Secretary.
The MP for Nottingham South has been promoted by new Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn – she was previously shadow rail minister.
Ms Greenwood was elected to Parliament in 2010 and shortly after was appointed to the Transport Select Committee.
On her website she says she has “helped secure £60 million of funding to refurbish [Nottingham’s] railway station, an extension to Nottingham’s tram network and the upgrading of the A453.”
She was a vocal supporter of the campaign to keep the East Coast Mainline in public hands.
