Mouchel has won a major Construction Design & Management Co-ordinator & Road Safety Audit contract through the Highways Agency’s Project Support Framework.
Mouchel will provide health and safety advice on the Construction Design & Management of six individual schemes including the M3, M1/M6 Interchange at Cathorpe and A14 Kettering bypass.
This work supports the HA’s ‘Aiming for Zero’ programme – its target for construction-related accidents and incidents.
The six schemes, to be delivered over the next four years, are part of the HA’s recently-announced programme to bring forward “Growth Schemes” in order to help kick-start the economy.
The appointment could potentially generate £2.5m of income for Mouchel under the PSF framework if extended to further schemes.
Darren Jones, CDMC Manager for Mouchel’s Intelligent Transport business, said: “I am delighted with this appointment.
“This commission supports the HA’s ethos – from project to programme delivery – and it ensures that Design for Maintenance is at the heart of the agenda.
“Our pro-active involvement will enable positive outcomes for road-worker and road-user safety.”
