ITS Australia’s announced it’ll be working with Transport Certification Australia as its official demonstrations partner at Melbourne’s Grand Prix track next year for World Congress 2016.
“ITS Australia is pleased to be partnering with TCA for the demonstrations component of the World Congress. This exciting part of the programme provides a great opportunity for delegates to experience the latest mobility technologies,” said ITS Australia Chief Executive Officer, Susan Harris.
Chris Koniditsiotis, TCA Chief Executive Officer added, “TCA is delighted to be continuing a fruitful relationship with ITS Australia, putting the future of this technical enabling capability on the national agenda.
“As a national government body supporting the growing use of telematics and related intelligent technologies, TCA is uniquely positioned to coordinate practical, real-world demonstrations for the Congress,” Mr Koniditsiotis said.
Centring around “Enhancing Liveable Cities and Communities”, the congress’s theme focuses on key issues in transport, including challenges and opportunities of big open data, smart cities and new urban mobility, vehicle and network safety, environmental sustainability, cooperative and automated vehicles, mobile applications, future freight, and policy, standards and harmonisation.
The demonstrations programme is expected to be announced later this year at the 22nd annual ITS World Congress in Bordeaux.
Next year’s World Congress will be held in October at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre, with the demonstrations ten minutes away at the Albert Park Lake circuit.
