Smart Highways Magazine is the only magazine about Intelligent Transport Systems aimed solely at the UK market. Its job is to bridge the gap between technology suppliers and the UK road and traffic managers.
First published in 2013, the title has been owned more recently by Alad Ltd who acquired the title a year later, and by the Hemming Group who took over Alad Ltd in December 2016. Smart Highways is the sister publication of Highways, which has been published since 1934. Both magazines are now part of Transport Network – a Hemming Group portfolio – details of which can be found at www.transport-network.co.uk.
Smart Highways is published four times per year. It features a review of the main industry news, an interview with a leading professional, columnists, case studies, viewpoints and features plus coverage of events and exclusive content from ITS (UK).
There’s a new weekly email, too. Seven Days in ITS is sent to mailboxes across the country every Monday morning, summarising the big news stories of the past week, plus a look ahead to the week ahead.
ITS has its own award at the Highways Awards, formerly the Highways Magazine Excellence Awards, which were launched in 2005, now boast huge recognition for the recipients with their 100% independent judging process, ensuring integrity and authenticity to the winners of the categories.
Traffex Seeing is Believing (formerly Highways SIB) was added to the stable in 2010, to provide an alternative to traditional sterile exhibitions where attendees and exhibitors struggled to demonstrate and visualise how a product/service might work. Seeing is Believing offers a unique opportunity to demonstrate products and services outside on real road environments – urban, rural and motorway – with day, dusk and night time conditions.
