Ridesharing company Lyft has launched a new price plan which provides 30 trips for $299 each month – as long as each journey’s regular cost would be less than $15.

According to a report on DigitalTrends.com, the “All-Access Plan” is part of the company’s mission “make car ownership less essential than it is perceived to be today”.

In its blog, the company says, “This is the first step toward delivering on our goal of making car ownership optional, and we’re constantly looking for more ways to provide passengers with the easiest, most convenient options possible.”

Lyft raised an additional $600 million in a recent funding round, bringing the total to $5.1 billion, and is now looking to float on the stock market, with talks ongoing with JPMorgan, according to Reuters.
