Kapsch opens London office

Mobility solutions company Kapsch have opened a London office in London as their official representation in the UK.

Kapsch CarrierCom UK and Kapsch TrafficCom UK, have been active in the UK market for many years and have successfully implemented several railway, public transport and traffic management projects.

COO Dr Kari Kapsch, presented his company’s plans for UK saying,  “Great Britain is an important market for Kapsch – for railway communications as well as for our solutions in the area of public transport and intelligent mobility solutions for road traffic management.  With a base in London, we can strengthen our local position and are much closer to our customers.  At Kapsch we create integrated mobility solutions for road, rail and public transport and are constantly pushing the boundaries of mobility to help create smart cities and intelligent transportation systems.  The UK is already on its way to connect different means of transportation, and we believe that our solutions can contribute to the future of mobility, which shall be seamless, secure, fast and efficient transportation.”

Since beginning activity in the UK, both companies have been awarded several contracts including Kapsch CarrierCom’s maintenance of the entire GSM-R network on behalf of Network Rail.  With the new branch office in London, Kapsch is looking to expand its UK offering to include ticketing and ITCS solutions for public transport.

Kapsch TrafficCon UK Managing Director Sharon Kindleysides said, “We are delighted that Kapsch CarrierCom is showing such commitment to our UK customers by growing our presence by establishing an office in London.  This will help us offer joined-up ITS solutions incorporating Road, Rail and Public Transport Systems and we look forward to working together on many exciting opportunities.”
