The CEO of Kapsch TrafficCom has given more details about why his company bought Schneider Electric’s Transportation Business Telvent Tráfico y Transporte.

The €26 million purchase last week increases Kapsch’s presence in Spain, Latin America, North America and the Middle East.

CEO Georg Kapsch told people during a presentation on his stand at Intertraffic Amsterdam that the future is “about the combination of managed lanes on highways and the urban environment.

“We at Kapsch had hardly any access to city customers and the acquisition brings us one step further, not just in terms of technology but also in terms of access to new customers.  These customers will profit both from Kapsch and Telvent technologies and experience.  It’s all about customer satisfaction and I think it’s to the advantage of customers that they have a one stop shop”.

He also talks about extra smart city knowledge and integrated mobility management platforms.
