Entries are being invited for the annual ITS (UK) awards for students and apprentices which are designed to encourage interest and participation in the development of ITS technologies.
UK resident apprentices, undergraduates and MSc students are invited to submit an essay on Transport of the Future with the winners being those judged to have submitted the best essay of around 1,500 words, endorsed by their employer or institution.
Work may be based on existing course work, or written especially for the Award. Marks will be awarded for technical detail, innovative ideas and referencing of current best practice.
Awards will be made in two categories:
- Best essay by an apprentice
- Best essay by an undergraduate or MSc student
Entries should be in Word format and submitted by 18 March 2019, and be endorsed by a tutor, manager or other competent person

The two winning entries will be published by ITS (UK), SMART Highways, and Highways and receive a £100 cash prize. The overall winner will be invited to present their paper at Traffex 2019, 2-4 April, NEC, Birmingham.
