Smart Highways editor Paul Hutton was interviewed on BBC Local Radio this morning, facing questions about speed cameras on the 23rd anniversary of the first one being used in Twickenham.
Paul was asked to be on the James Whale show on BBC Essex, as he himself lives in the county and is seen as an expert in the industry.
Paul says, “I knew I’d get a tough time about what is seen as unfair speeding tickets so I made the decision to stress the good things that the ITS industry has done, particularly with average speed checks and radar technology.
“In my opinion it’s important to take every opportunity to get the success of ITS beyond our own industry community and into the public consciousness, so even though this wasn’t a real area of expertise, I felt I had to say yes and take part.”
