The biennial German International Motor Show in Frankfurt – one of the most significant dates in the automotive calendar – has seen key announcements about electrification and autonomous cars.

The automotive technology company SBD has written a detailed report about some key announcements for the ITS industry – read it here.

The report includes details about Bosch’s announcement that it expects to see its annual sales of driver-assistance systems reach €2 billion by 2019, outpacing market growth of 25 per cent per year, and Mercedes-Benz announcing plans to launch in-vehicle three word address navigation using what3words, allowing the user to navigate to any 3m x 3m square on the globe by using a combination of three dictionary words saved to that location.

Among the other announcements covered are Honda’s Urban EV Concept, that electrified technology will now feature in every new car model launched in Europe and SEAT’s decision to be the first car manufacturer in Europe to offer Alexa integration in its vehicles.
