The Welsh Government has started the search for a contractor to build the A483-A489 Newtown Bypass.

The early contractor involvement job involves developing the design of the preferred route alignment and taking it through the statutory process before carrying out the detailed design and construction of the 5.6km bypass.

Work is expected to start on the road in 2014.

The Welsh Government is conducting the procurement through the etenderwales portal Tender documents and other information must be downloaded from and returned through this portal.
