The Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation in partnership with the Department for Transport, have launched a series of webinars on the Highways Maintenance Efficiency Programme covering procurement, contracting and standardisation.
The webinars are based on the HMEP, which aims to for efficiency savings of 15-20% through the delivery of highway maintenance services procured by local highway authorities.
The webinars are freely available to view on the CIHT website at www.ciht.org.uk/hmepwebinar.
The webinars are a series of presentations aimed at local highway authorities who are about to procure new term service or other highway maintenance contracts.
Officers in Local highway authorities are encouraged to view the webinar and to contact HMEP if the products may be of use to them. Supporting documents will be available via the HMEP website – http://www.dft.gov.uk/hmep/ once they are released.
Formal training is also being developed for the HMEP Form of Contract to aid knowledge, understanding and embedment within local authority practitioners.
