The Highways Awards (formerly the Highways Magazine Excellence Awards) 2017 will return to the prestigious Nine Kings Suite at the Lancaster London this October and nominations for it are now open, including one for best use of technology.
Now in its fourteenth year, the Awards showcase innovative, collaborative, efficient, safe and sustainable highway schemes, teams products and more.
The evening typically attracts more than 400 key professionals to network, celebrate and discover the winners.
The organisers of the event say that organisations entering get the benefits internally and externally by recognising the hard work of staff, boosting morale, attracting high calibre employees, bringing the organisation’s achievements and good practice into the spotlight, offering the chance to make headlines through nominations and giving a chance to enjoy a night of networking and celebration.
The Award for the Best Use of New Technology in the Highways Industry is sponsored by MVIS and awarded to an organisation or local authority which can demonstrate that they have or are making a significant improvement to the highways industry through the implementation of new technology. This could be new software, innovative equipment or an ITS solution. The technology should have been deployed or have been on test for at least 12 months prior to entry with clear evidence of its benefits by deployment on one or multiple schemes.
There are 13 categories in total, which are listed here.
