The Highways Agency is looking for a contractor to replace the Chelmer Viaduct in Essex for £21m.

Work will involve construction of a new 0.9km multi-span viaduct over the River Chelmer near Chelmsford on the A138.

The existing structure will be demolished to allow construction of an off-line 17 span, 400m long composite steel beam/reinforced concrete deck slab viaduct on r.c. piled support piers.

Completion of the scheme is set for late 2014 and up to five bidders will be invited to tender.

Firm must express an interest by November 13 with : Highways Agency The Cube, 199 Wharfside Street Steven Bissell B1 1RN Birmingham steven.bissell@highways.gsi.gov.uk
