The American company Global Traffic Technologies, GTT, is highlighting technical solutions for transit operators at a big American summit this week.
During the 2016 Transit Bus Summit in Dana Point, California GTT will be explaining to transit agencies how technology can help reduce their operating costs while simultaneously improving service, on-time performance and ridership.
The Transit Bus Summit is an event aimed at Transportation Directors of public transit and university bus systems, and provides an opportunity for agencies and suppliers to share ideas and solutions on best management of fleet operations.
GTT says it has a series of solutions for transit agencies and is encouraging them to embrace ITS because it can, among other things, help keep up with demand without compromising service levels, reduce operating costs while improving service, improve on-time performance and ridership.
GTT says its technology helps cities meet the growing demand for fast, reliable, affordable transit solutions through its OpticomT solution which allows agencies to extend or truncate green cycle times at traffic signals for more accurate schedule adherence. In turn, transit vehicles – including buses, light rail trains and streetcars – are on the road less, which reduces fuel and fleet costs.
