Three weeks before the biggest end best ever Traffex opens its doors at Birmingham’s NEC, the organisers have announced a new feature created with partners Costain and Mott MacDonald.
In line with the main theme of how technology is driving change on the network and covering an impressive 350 square metres, the Future Mobility feature will take visitors to Traffex and Parkex on an interactive journey from the past through to the present and beyond.
In the exhibit, visitors will explore existing and emerging technologies which will offer discussions on the future implications for tomorrow’s transport, including the technological, legal, social and economic impacts.
Active in the CAV sector, Costain and Mott MacDonald are currently collaborating with Highways England, Kent County Council and Transport for London (TfL) on the A2/M2 connected corridor, the flagship contract to design, install and implement one of the UK’s first pilot connected vehicle corridors on a live road.
“Costain’s purpose is to improve people’s lives with smart infrastructure solutions across the water, energy and transportation sectors, so we are delighted to be taking visitors to Traffex on a journey through the possibilities of Future Mobility,” explained Richard Stuart, Highways Sector Director, Costain
“We are delighted to co-curate the Future Mobility feature at Traffex 2019 because it encompasses the essence of what we do at Mott MacDonald – we open opportunities with connected thinking,” added Alistair Gollop, Technology Enineering Services Lead, Mott MacDonald
More than 10,000 people are expected to visit Traffex and Parkex on 2, 3 and 4 April, representing the largest community of key decision-makers and purchasers you will ever find in the UK.
The event also features the three theatres of presentations and debate, breaking news announcements from exhibitors on the new Trading Floor and the inuagral Futures Day – a day where the industry’s next generation is welcomed to take part in discussions and see the vast range of innovations within the highways and transport technology industries.
