FM Conway has opened a new £10 million asphalt plant.
Heathrow Asphalt, which is based in Bulls Bridge, Hayes, will produce up to 300,000 tonnes of asphalt per year, and will enable the company to efficiently serve highways clients and partners, providing 24-hour security of supply.
The opening of the plant will create 65 new jobs.
Michael Conway (pictured), CEO of FM Conway, said: “The new asphalt plant at Heathrow is a crucial investment for us, and we’re delighted that this has enabled us to provide new highly skilled jobs for residents. The nature of our business means we work very closely with the communities in which we operate, and we want to make sure our work and the investments we make benefit local people wherever possible.”
Heathrow Asphalt is the second asphalt plant the company has opened in three years. Both facilities are among the most efficient in Europe and combined have the capacity to produce up to 600,000 tonnes of asphalt per year. The two plants increase FM Conway’s supply capacity across London and the south east.
