FM Conway is set to provide local authorities and construction companies with a new laboratory service to test the performance and quality of asphalt, concrete and aggregates.
Conway is launching the new offer after its R&D laboratory received formal approval to test materials from the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), the Government’s National Accreditation Body.
The laboratory will also continue to test FM Conway’s own asphalt and aggregates product ranges as well as helping the company to drive forward with advanced research and material innovation as part of its new product development programme.
Mark Flint, Technical Manager for Aggregate and Asphalt, said: “With tighter legislative targets and a need to drive construction industry standards, our customers and project partners need to obtain detailed information and greater transparency about the quality, longevity and whole-life environmental performance of materials.
“Our new service will meet this demand, providing local authorities and the private sector with an efficient way of testing materials in high-quality laboratory conditions. Importantly, this facility will also ensure that we are able to offer a unique integrated commercial offer across material supply, testing, design and contracting.”
