Awards judging panel covers all corners of the UK

Once again representing all corners of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Highways Awards 2017 (formerly Highways Magazine Excellence Awards) judging panel has been announced.

Each judge has a wealth of experience in the highways industry and, combined with their own individual areas of expertise, they make an impressive and distinguished panel. There is a fair and open system of scoring each entry, which makes the Awards equally accessible to both small or large organisations.

The judging panel for the Highways Awards 2017 comprises:

Tony Kirby
Head Judge and President, The Institute of Highway Engineers

 

Nicola Debnam
Divisional Director, Asset Development, Highways England

 

Wayne Duerden
Head of Traffic Engineering Policy, Department for Transport

 

Graham Edmond
Senior Principal Civil Engineer, Smarter Workplace Project Manager, Finance, Corporate and Analytical Services Directorate, Transport Scotland

 

Kevin Monaghan
Divisional Manager, Transport NI, Eastern Division

Richard Morgan
Head of Planning for Network Management Division Transport, Department for Economy & Infrastructure, Welsh Government

 

The FREE online entry system is now open and closes on Friday 23rd June – check out the 12 categories available and submit your entries here. Please remember that all entries will be judged on:

  • The quality of the improvements they have made to the UK’s Highway Maintenance and Traffic Related Industry
  • Clear demonstration that the entry meets the required elements of the criteria for the category entered

All results will be given at the gala dinner that will take place on Wednesday 18th October at the Lancaster London. Table bookings will be available on the website – www.highwaysawards.co.uk – from next week.
