Asbestos management company Lucion Environmental has acquired highways specialist MPC Northern.
The deal, finalised by Lucion’s financial director and co-founder Charles Pickles, will enable the firm to further its plans to expand into the infrastructure sector and strengthen its presence in the South Yorkshire area.
Founded by Bill Perratt, MPC currently serve highway areas 2, 7, 10 and 12 in the management and removal of asbestos and hazardous materials.
Lucion plans to move its Sheffield operations to MPC’s offices, bringing its workforce in the area to 15 and overall UK workforce to 122.
Pickles said: “MPC is a long established, solid and well regarded name within our industry. Our ambition is to enhance the services offered by adding our own brand of dynamism and forward-thinking attitudes.
“The acquisition of MPC has not only enabled Lucion to expand its service offering to more niche areas of the industry but allowed to us to expand on the highly trained staff we now have working for us.”
