Consultant AECOM has been appointed to provide professional transport planning services to Hertfordshire County Council under a four-year deal.

Services will include:

·         Strategy development and scheme identification

·         Transport modelling support work

·         Development control support work

·         Major schemes business cases and other bidding initiatives

·         Specialist surveys

As the contract progresses, AECOM will work with the County Council to identify potential projects to ensure it is able to respond to key strategic transport and development opportunities.

Stuart Pile, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport at Hertfordshire County Council, said: “This single supplier call-off contract will allow us to commission work quickly from one of the UK’s top engineering consultancies, without having to go through separate procurement processes for every project.

“This, in turn, will enable us to respond promptly to new transport funding opportunities and be more proactive in terms of changes in transport and planning policy and major development work.”

Ian Burrows, AECOM’s Contract Manager, Transportation, Europe, said: “AECOM has a well-established, local team based in Hertfordshire and is delighted to be awarded this contract.  We know there will be significant opportunity to add value and drive efficiencies by working in close partnership with our client.”
