The contract is worth up to £7m per annum and will run for six years, with the option for a four year extension.
Lafarge Tarmac will start work for Halton Borough Council in June 2013 and Warrington Borough Council in April 2014.
The deal will see Lafarge Tarmac delivering surfacing, emergency response, winter maintenance and schemes on behalf of both local authorities.

Cllr John Stockton, Halton Borough Council’s portfolio holder for Transportation, and Cllr Linda Dirir, Warrington Borough Council’s Executive member for Transportation, Engineering and Climate Change said: “The award of the Halton and Warrington Highways Term Contracts to Lafarge Tarmac is the culmination of a successful joint procurement exercise undertaken by both councils with a view to securing further administrative and operational efficiencies in the delivery of highway services.
